More licensed tracks and live performances from Warner Music’s stable of artists are on the way in 2021
Since its inception, League of Legends has always had a strong connection to music, manifesting in recent times in the form of Riot Games’ virtual bands, such as K-Pop legends K/DA.
Likewise, music has always been integral to the League of Legends esports experience, which is why we’re extremely excited to welcome back Warner Music Central Europe as Official Music Partner for the LEC in 2021. This marks the third year of partnership between Warner Music and the LEC, and we couldn’t be happier to bring its incredible catalogue of music to our broadcasts.
Throughout the year, Warner Music Central Europe will continue to provide the Song of the Week in the live LEC broadcasts. Previous featured artists include Diplo, Robin Schulz, and Trivium, to name a few. Warner will also power up our additional LEC content by soundtracking hype videos for the league, and support the European Masters competition with some brilliant tracks from its extensive catalogue.

Also, look out for some incredible artists popping up across LEC broadcasts for some live performances throughout the year. We’re still looking into how to make these performances live up to our fan’s expectations, but rest assured that they will embody the excitement and unpredictability of the LEC.
Last year, for example, French DJ duo Ofenbach dropped by the LEC studio for an electrifying set at the LEC Summer Finals, getting fans suitably hyped for the final showdown between Fnatic and G2 Esports. Expect to see even more fantastic musical performances in 2021.
“Music and gaming are firmly linked”, explains Oliver Thienhaus, Director Paid & Owned Media, Warner Music Central Europe.
“Through our partnership with Riot Games, we can leverage this connection to create exciting synergies and provide even more music fans with the right music at the right moment,” he says.
“We’re very much looking forward to working on many exciting projects together in 2021.”
“It’s incredible to see the milestones that we have achieved with Warner Music Central Europe since the beginning of our collaboration”, says Alban Dechelotte, Head of Sponsorships & New Business EU Esports at Riot Games. From powering up the LEC broadcast with the Song of the Week segment in 2019 to live streaming and live performances from artists at the LEC Finals in 2020, we can’t wait to see where our partnership will take us in 2021”.
The LEC returns on Friday 22 January at 17:00 CET on lolesports.com – don’t miss it!
