IHC Esports becomes the first Mongolian team to qualify for PGL Major, the most prestigious tournament in the CS:GO scene. IHC started by defeating its regional rivals TYLOO by a ‘2-0’ scoreline, with close games on Mirage (16-13) and Ancient (19-16). They followed it by another ‘2-0’ victory against Renegades on Inferno (16-10) and Mirage (16-4), as IHC went undefeated against two of the favorite teams to qualify for the Antwerp Major.
PGL Major Antwerp 2022 is scheduled to take place from May 09 – May 22, 2022, at the Antwerps Sportpaleis. With 16 teams comprising of both Challengers (eight) and Contenders (eight) qualified through RMRs and eight teams automatically qualified to Legend stage, the total of 24 top-tier teams will compete for the prize pool of $1,000,000.
IHC Esports showcased a cohesive gameplay at the APAC RMR, with three players Tengis ‘Sk0R’ Batjargal, Byambasuren ‘bLitz’ Garidmagnai, and Munkhbold ‘Techno4K’ Sodbayar made it into the list of top 5 CS:GO players by their positive K/D ratio, according to HLTV.org.
IHC’s first opponent in the tournament will be Astralis, a Danish organization who hold the most Major titles with 4. At the Challenger Stage, the initial matches will have a best-of-one format and the elimination and advancement games will be best-of-three. The top eight teams will qualify ahead to the Legends stage, while the bottom eight teams will be eliminated.
Valve just released a series of exclusive stickers for the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 that represents all the 24 participating teams and player autographs, including a new glitter variant. IHC Esports fans can show their support by purchasing their preferred stickers via in game capsules and apply to any weapon they own.
